Minneapolis, MN
I provide direction and support to Minnesota’s 317 agriculture teachers and more than 200 School-Based Agricultural, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Education programs. There are more than 35,000 students in Minnesota AFNR grades 7-12; FFA has more than 13,000 members and is dedicated to career exploration, leadership development, and personal growth. My PhD is in agricultural leadership, education, and communications. I have a research and grant writing background and am interested in using data to make informed decisions. I have a graduate certificate in Gender Studies and Critical Race theory; I am passionate about helping school districts to become equitable and engage in social justice to promote learning for all students.

I taught HS agriculture in Red Wing MN for four years. I specialized in horticulture, agricultural economics, and leadership development. I then went to the California Department of Education to manage the FFA Association there, directing more than 50 annual leadership conferences that impacted more than 10,000 students each year. In my previous role I was an instructor at Texas A&M University where I taught teacher education courses, conducted research, and completed my PhD.
